Viktor was born in August 26, 1949 in Odessa, Ukraine. After
serving in the army, Victor started a family and moved with it to Moscow in
1971. At first he worked in Moscow as an artist in the Palace of Pioneers. From
1971 he worked in the publishing house "Planeta" as an art editor,
where he encountered photography for the first time. It was here that he began
his photo career. Since 1975, became a freelance photographer. In 1978, Victor graduated
from the faculty of photojournalism in the Moscow Institute of journalistic Skills.
In 1980 he became a member of the Moscow City Committee of Graphic Artists, in
1987 - a member of the Russian Union of Journalists, and in 1991 a member of the Union of
Photographers of Russia. From 1991 until his death was in charge of the Photo
Service in the Russian historical magazine of the Russian Government and the
Presidential Administration, "Rodina". Since 1996, a member of the
Association of Advertising Photographers of Russia. In 2006, Viktor Petrovich
was diagnosed with cancer. In 2007, he underwent a course of chemotherapy, and was
preparing for surgery. In May 23, 2009 in the hospital number 68 Viktor Gritsyuk
died after almost three years of suffering from cancer. May 27 was buried at
the Zherebevsk cemetery (Zherebyatevo village, Domodedovo district, Moscow
region).
