After the lost of Japan in the world war II, American soldiers wanted to take home something typical as a souvenir or a gift.

You can find on the back of most of them the name of the Japan bases,

animals like dragons,

hawks,

tigers,

or even maps.

The most expensives ones were reversible like this one and it

became a very famous piece in America during the 50''.
